Join us for a hands-on workshop on the life cycle and challenges that these beautiful butterflies face every year when they migrate all the way from as far north as Canada to spend the winter months in Florida and Mexico. For ages 6 to 12. Limited to 20 participants.
We end the program with a repeat visit by our friends at Green Meadows Farm and their delightful farm animals.
Upon registration, Summer Reading Program participants receive a reading log in which to record either the number of minutes read or titles completed between May 31 and September 13, 2014. For each book completed or 60 minutes of reading, a small incentive is awarded.
Program participants may present their reading logs to the circulation staff or to the children’s librarian in order to receive a prize. The Library staff may informally quiz the participant on the content of the books.
Throughout the summer months, the Library staff will be available to recommend age-appropriate titles to participants. Suggested reading lists from several area schools will also be on hand.
