Travel 101: Disney and Gourmet Italy
The Library has two exciting programs for travelers-to-be coming up in May. The first, Monday, May 11, will focus on getting the most out of your Disney Trip, whether traveling to one of the parks, resorts, or booking a cruise. The program will be led by Lara Rouillard, who some of our patrons will know from her social media and technology workshops. As a graduate of the Disney College, Lara offers unique insights and tips on how to best tailor a Disney experience that fits your budget and interests.
Our second travel-oriented program on Thursday, May 21 is a must for all foodies and lovers of Italy! Marlene Iaciofano, President of Gourmet Getaways, which for 15 years has planned unique and personalized travel experiences for individuals, couples and families looking to discover the Italy most “tourists” never get to see. Marlene is an expert on all things Italian and will talk from personal experience about little-known destinations – and restaurants – that will entice even the most jaded traveler to book the next flight to Rome.

iPad Workshop with Lara Rouillard
Tech guru, Lara Rouillard, will discuss tips and tricks to get the most out of your iPad, demonstrate new apps and steps to keep your device updated. Refreshments will be served.
At Home Parents Back-to-Work Roundtable
One of our volunteers, a very smart young mother who left the workforce to raise her children, suggested that the Library create opportunities for at-home parents to come together to discuss and learn about strategies to return to work after a hiatus.  We loved the idea so much that we decided to do something about it!
We plan to hold a monthly early lunchtime meeting (bring your own brown bag; the Library has coffee and tea) with a speaker or professional who will offer tips on a variety of subjects.  Among the topics we will be exploring will be tips for using social media to network and land a job; how to start your own business; using the Library’s online databases in job searching; and much, much more!
PS:  You don’t have to be a parent to participate!  Anyone who would like to rejoin the workforce after some time away is welcome.
