Upon registration, Summer Reading Program participants receive a reading log in which to record either the number of minutes read or titles completed between and . For each book completed or 60 minutes of reading, a small incentive is awarded.

Program participants may present their reading logs to the circulation staff or to the children’s librarian in order to receive a prize. The Library staff may informally quiz the participant on the content of the books.

Throughout the summer months, the Library staff will be available to recommend age-appropriate titles to participants. Suggested reading lists from several area schools will also be on hand.
